Release notes for MOZART 3 Version 3.0.1 13 August 1997 Doing a "Save" or "Save as" while a print preview window is showing, sometimes caused the whole thing to crash and the data to be lost. (This was because it was looking for the caret position in the top window in order to save it, and was not reacting properly when the top window was a print preview window.) This must have been a problem since version 2.0.0 but no-one had noticed it apparently. Thanks to my daughter Jennifer for finding this one (and for the lack of accompanying choice words I might have expected). It is now fixed Version 3.0.2 18 August 1997 The end-of-music symbol was very occasionally not appearing in the correct position. This is now fixed. Version 3.0.3 8 September 1997 Mapp Brown telephoned from Morocco today to tell me that my keyboard shortcuts are not all fixed, and my claim in 3.0.0 above is therefore rather optimistic. In particular the single quote on a French Keyboard doesn't work. (In fact I rapidly discovered that on any keyboard where the numbers on the top row are obtained with the shift key - French, Belgian, Czech, Slovakian, but not most others, then the symbols underneath them were not working as keyboard shortcuts.) My thanks to Mapp for this information; having turned my computer into an "ordinateur" (ie having loaded French Keyboard drivers) for the day, I have managed to track down this bug and fix it. Version 3.0.4 16 October 1997 Adding an extra stave to the score in version 3.0.3 sometimes causes a crash. This depends on the contents of the existing parts and I lost some sleep an hair over this one, but as Michael Howard had kindly sent me an mz file displaying the problem, I was eventually able to nail the bug and fix it in version 3.0.4. Version 3.0.5 30 November 1997 In cases where the end of a second time bar is also the start of a new repeated section and if, in addition, that section starts on a different line from the start of the second time bar, MOZART version 3 has not been drawing the start-of-repeat-bar correctly. This is now fixed with thanks to Yves Fagnot in Belgium who sent me mz files highlighting the problem. Version 3.0.6 3 December 1997 When deleting items using the backspace key, one can go too far and attempt to delete the clef at the start of the piece. MOZART does not permit this (although of course one can change it). But previously this could cause unpleasant behaviour. Thanks to Dominique Honoré for telephoning to tell me about this. It is fixed in this version. Version 3.1.0 20 December 1997 The main purpose of this version is a change in ordering information (hence the change from MOZART 3.0 to 3.1 to allow the evaluation copy to be entered on ftp sites as mozart31.zip to replace mozart30.zip). However I have also taken the opportunity to fix an annoying bug with a view to the future: if you run MOZART 3 (for example to try it out) and then revert to MOZART 2, then MOZART 2 tries to load the extra toolbars of MOZART 3 which it knows nothing about. This causes it to crash. MOZART 3.1 fixes this so that from now on if you try a later version of MOZART (whenever one becomes available) you will be able to revert to the earlier version without this problem. Version 3.2.0 24 July 1998 A playback bug has been forcing the program into a non-terminating loop if you place the "to coda" instruction at the start of a first time bar. (It was finding the start first time bar and jump to second time bar oblivious that there was ALSO a "to coda" instruction which should take precedence after a DS or DC had been executed.) This is fixed in this version. Thanks to Eric Simon for providing the information which led to this fix. Version 3.3.0 22 October 1998 Thanks to Reni Kurpershoek for pointing out that if you have a piece which switches between tenor and alto clef in one part, then there is no way you can delete the clef change. There is now! (For complicated reasons the problem was limited to those two clefs.) Version 3.3.1 24 April 1999 Thanks to Mario Dimayuga for pointing out problems playing back 3rd time bars. This is now fixed.
