LYRICS

• Rapid lyric entry with automatic alignment: just type the words under the music and let mozart worry about aligning them with the notes. It is seriously fast!
  
   
• Lyric hyphen and underbar placement is automatic, and allows for words sustained over two or more notes.

PERCUSSION INSTRUMENTS OF INDEFINITE PITCH

• Percussion instruments of indefinite pitch are now very easy to use with very flexible play-back (using General MIDI assignments):   write a percussion part on a 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 line stave with any instrument on any line or space.
   
• The percussion clef is shown on staves for indefinite pitch percussion parts.
   
• The collection of percussion instruments used on any stave may be saved in mozart percussion files (.mzp) for rapid redeployment in other pieces.
   
• A typical drumkit .mzp file is included with mozart's templates.

CHORD SYMBOLS

• Chord symbols (G7 C#9 etc) are now supported.  They transpose automatically with the music, and play back if desired
   
• Chord symbol styles are configurable - for example you may choose from C° or Cdim,  and from E+ or Eaug,  and there are many other commonly encountered options.

ORNAMENTS

• Grace notes are now available in arbitrarily large beamed groups, with adjustable play-back on or before the beat as desired.
   
• Appoggiatura and Acciaccatura are both fully supported.
   
• The chord arpeggiation symbol is now supported.

LINE BREAKS

• Hard line breaks can be used to force continuation of the music on a new line.
• Hard music breaks can be used to force a restart of the music on a new line.

ANNOTATION

• Automatic bar numbering is now supported.   You can choose to number bars: at the start of each line;  every so many bars; or manually as in earlier versions.
   
• Bar numbering may be started at any specified value for the first bar.
   
• Rehearsal marks are now fully supported, and maintain their order automatically.
   
• Header and footer text can now include automatic references to the title of the piece.

BAR LINES AND CLEFS

• Extra bar lines can be inserted in a more flexible way - automatically splitting any long notes in parallel parts. 

• Clef changes can be inserted in a more flexible way - automatically splitting any long notes in parallel parts on the same stave.

• Clefs may now be automatically annotated with a subscript or superscript "8"
  where appropriate.

GREATER EDITING FLEXIBILITY

• Time signatures are now editable anywhere in the music (both the initial time signature and time signature changes).
   
• Inserting a passage of bars can now be done such that the new passage is in any time signature.
   
• Individual beats of any length may be inserted and deleted moving subsequent music right or left relative to the bar lines.
   
• Automatic timed back-ups are now made to protect against losing data in a system crash.

PLAY-BACK

• New features including chord symbols, unpitched percussion, grace notes (including appoggiatura) all have full play-back support.
   
• Parts or sections of parts can be marked as silent on playback.

• The on-line help now includes a detailed explanation of the naming of chords from C and G7 to (eg) D7+ and E11#9 and beyond.
